About the Origin of This Hungarian Grammar App

After 2.5 years of practicing every evening on online apps, I now know quite a few Hungarian words. However, the apps cause a lot of frustration. Some words are repeated 100 times, while others appear only once. Stringing together a normal sentence seems hopeless. Nowhere is it explained what all the possible conjugations are. In the apps, you simply guess the right one because only one option in the word list represents the word. Why it looks the way it does remains a mystery… you think you're making progress, but it's an illusion.

Since I'm determined to master this language, building my own app was the only solution. Online, only words and sentences were offered, no grammar. €20 per hour for private lessons wasn't an option either. An intensive language course costing €500+ wasn't feasible. Books didn't solve the problem either. Hopefully, by practicing a lot, I can master the conjugations, prefixes, and suffixes. At my age, repetition is the only thing that can still save me. While building the app, I occasionally started seeing the light, so it seems to be working!!

The app is already solid and standing strong, but it's hard to guess which verbs, words, and sentences you all want to learn. With your input, I hope to add many more words, sentences, and audio in the coming months. This is just the beginning!
